Speaker 1:

Are you a teacher who's feeling stressed out and overwhelmed. Do you worry that you're feeling symptoms of burnout or are you sure you've already gotten there? Have you started to dream of doing some other kind of job or perhaps pursuing a whole different career, but you don't know what else you're even qualified to do. You don't know how to start a job search. You just feel stuck. If that sounds like you, I promise you're not alone. My name is kitty Boitnott. I'm a career transition and job search coach. And I specialize in helping burn out teachers, just like you deal, not only with the stress and overwhelm of your day to day job, but to consider what other careers might be out there waiting for you. Join me for teachers in transition. In some episodes, I'll be speaking to stress management techniques and how you can manage your stress on a day to day basis. In other episodes, I'll be talking about career transition. What tools do you need to be successful in a job search when you're moving from one career into a totally different track. These are questions that you need answers to, and I can help you find those answers. My name is kitty. Boitnott welcome to teachers and transition.

Speaker 2:

Welcome to a special Thanksgiving message from me to you. Whoever may be listening out there in the podcast world or the YouTube world. My name's Katie Boitnott, I'm the owner and founder of teachers in transition and boys not coaching. And this is a holiday message and I'm going to keep it short and quick and simple. I mean, you hear this message for the first time. It will be Thanksgiving day 2021. And I want to wish you a heartfelt Thanksgiving. I hope you're able to get with family and friends and relax and enjoy and eat as much as you want, but don't overdo and drink as much as you like, but don't overdo. And also use this weekend as a time to recharge, even though it's a short break, it is a break from the normal routine, and you can take the time to recharge yourself, reset your energy and enthusiasm to get yourself through, to at least the Christmas holiday. And think in terms of taking stock of where you are in your life, be grateful for all of the wonderful things that you have, and all of us have something for which to be grateful, even if you are experiencing a hardship period or a time of loss and grief. I know for myself, this is a bittersweet Thanksgiving because it's the first Thanksgiving that I will not have my brother with me for the Thanksgiving day, but I will be with my sister and I will get to see other family members. And I will be reminded yet again, of just how important family and friends are. I also know that it's important for us to take stock of where we are at any point in our lives and determine if we are actually where we want to be. At any point in your life, you have a choice, you have the choice to continue on, and if you're happy with what you're doing, continuing on makes perfect sense. However, if you're not happy where you are right now, the choice you have to make is to choose something new, to choose something else. Sometimes we avoid making those choices because staying with what we know is so much easier than launching out into something new, but you do yourself a disservice, frankly, when you don't at least examine your life every once in a while, determine if you are on track to get where you want to be remembering that life is a journey. It's not a destination. And that each one of us have a, a unique path that we're following for good or for you. And hopefully you can make it for good. Even if you found yourself off track lightly, there's always the opportunity to what I refer to as course-correct to get yourself back on the track of where you want to be so that you can get where you want to go. That's my message for this week. Rest recharge, take stock and have a wonderful, wonderful holiday. I'll see you next week.
