Speaker 1:

Are you a teacher who's feeling stressed out and overwhelmed. Do you worry that you're feeling symptoms of burnout or are you sure you've already gotten there? Have you started to dream of doing some other kind of job or perhaps pursuing a whole different career, but you don't know what else you're even qualified to do. You don't know how to start a job search. You just feel stuck. If that sounds like you, I promise you're not alone. My name is kitty boy. Not I'm a career transition and job search coach. And I specialize in helping burnout teachers just like you deal, not only with the stress and overwhelm of your day to a job, but to consider what other careers might be out there waiting for you. Join me for teachers in transition. In some episodes, I'll be speaking to stress management techniques and how you can manage your stress on a day to day basis. In other episodes, I'll be talking about career. What tools do you need to be successful in a job search when you're moving from one career into a totally different track. These are questions that you need answers to and I can help you find those answers. My name is kitty boy, not welcome to teachers in transition.

Speaker 2:

Welcome back to another episode of teachers in transition, the podcast and the YouTube channel. My name is kitty boy, not, and I am the owner of boy, not coaching. And the founder of teachers in transition. I specialize in working with burn out teachers who are ready for career change. I am also a certified stress management coach. However, so I alternate topics each week, one week talking about career transition strategies and, uh, alternating weeks talking about stress management. This week, the topic is career and I'm going to divert from a usual non promotional<laugh> approach. I, I try not to be overly pro promotional. I try each week to offer good value and an understanding of how you can de-stres or how you can approach a job search that this week I'm going to be promoting. Because at the end of this week, the end of the year 2021, I will be taking a new approach to my business as far as increasing the price for jumpstart, your job search program. So if you're listening to this and it's still 2021, you have an opportunity to get in on a 20% discount on the program that I designed originally back in 2015, and then updated, upgraded and revamped in the fall of 2019, the course is designed to help people who are at the crossroads of a career change. First figure out what is it that you want to do with your life<affirmative> instead of teaching, what is it that you would do instead, if you could. And then the rest of the program is designed to help you get what you have decided you want, how to write a resume, how to I get past the applicant tracking system, how to create a research and marketing plan, how to write a compelling cover letter, how to create a stellar LinkedIn profile, how to use other social media to help you find a new job, how to network both in person and online, how to rebrand yourself, which is an, a key in of any job search. You have to start thinking of yourself differently. You have to start identifying yourself differently. You have to start talking about yourself differently. It's all part of a process. And I wish I could tell people that it's as simple as flipping a switch and suddenly, you know exactly you wanna do. It's all crystal clear. It's not. The process is messy and muddy. And I, sometimes I tell people you're in the middle of the, the mess or the you're in the messy middle of getting from where you are to where you want to go. There's a lapse in, in time between making the decision that you want to leave the classroom to deciding what it is that you want to do instead to finding the right job description and applying for that job and waiting for someone to contact you. And hopefully the interview will come and there's this, there's a lapse of time from start to finish. And it can take anywhere from four to six months or longer, depending on how aggressive you are in your search, how lucky you are in your search, how fortunate you are to have things fall into place for you, because in general, that's what it takes for eventually for everything to fall into place. You've found the right position. You know what it is that you wanna do, you go for that and ultimately find the right fit. It's a process. And my program jumpstart, your job search is intended to help with that process. Now I've been offering this program since 2015, I've sold it at different price points along the way. I am confident that it is, uh, a$3,000 value. And when you add in all the other bonuses and perks, it's closer to a$5,000 value, but I only charge$997. And right now, till the end of this year, I'm offering it for$797, or there's a friendly budget payment plan. If you like to take advantage of that, it is a necessary part of the process, though, for you to learn how to job search properly, people can and often do approach job hunting as an independent solo practice. They start looking at job, uh, descriptions online. They start talking to people about making a change and, and eventually you can figure it all out. I mean, EV everything you need to know is out there on the internet. The problem is that you often find contradictory and conflict advice. You don't know who do you trust? Who do you, who do you pay attention to that that knows what you have to offer. And that's what makes me different. As far as being a job search coach is that I was an educator for over 30 years. I know what you have to offer as a teacher. And I know how to help you translate what you do in the classroom every day into language that a business hiring manager will understand. Trust me, they aren't gonna learn your language. You need to learn their language. And that's where I come in. I'm the translator. I, I will help you to figure out out how to create the language that you need to break through. That, that the idea that you're just a teacher, oh, that's great. She's a teacher. Wonder why she's applying for this job or worse. Not ever, not even getting through the applicant tracking system because you don't understand how it works.<affirmative> I can help with that too. So forgive me for being promotional this week, but that's my offer. And I want you to be able to take advantage of it. If you're interested in a new job for 2022, if you want this to be your last year of teaching, I can't G that you're starting early enough to make that the case, but if the longer you wait to start, the last chance you're gonna have, if this will be your last year. So now's the time to start the beginning of a brand new year, and I'm starting a brand new coaching cohort on January 3rd. So this is, is the time. Now is the time to act. If you have been on the fence, if you've attended any of my master classes or presentations in the past now is the time after January 1st, the price goes back up to 9 97 and the 7 97 price will be going away for good kicking it to the curb. So let me know if you have any questions, email me@kittyboyatboycoaching.com. And if you would like to learn more about the jumpstart program before making a decision, I'm going to offer the link to that in the show notes. You're welcome to take a look at the full description of what the program includes. So that's it for this week, have a wonderful week, enjoy the new year. And I will see you next year in 20 22 5 for now.
